School: St.George’s School Munich

A rewarding science journey.

Kartika, an American student, graduated from St. George's School in Munich in the summer of 2023. With her rich Indian background, she fondly recalls the vibrant celebration of various cultures in the school community.

“I truly cherish the opportunity to mingle with many people from different cultural backgrounds which created an enriching environment."

When asked about her areas of interest, Kartika reveals her enduring passion for delving into scientific subjects. Her curiosity about how things work led her to develop a keen interest in physics. She was particularly drawn to the application of mathematics in describing the phenomena that surround us, finding it utterly fascinating.

Graduating with outstanding results in her IB exams, Kartika secured admission to her dream university. Attending the Technical University (TU) in Munich to study physics is a dream come true for her, as it's renowned as one of the premier institutions in Europe for this field of study.

Kartika’s success in exams stems from a blend of active class engagement and consistent practice. Delving into past questions played a pivotal role, solidifying concepts and honing her ability to apply classroom learning effectively.

Although initially challenged by the shift in the language of instruction from primarily English to predominantly German, Kartika seamlessly transitioned to university life in many regards and felt adequately prepared for the change. Focused on her major in Physics, she aspires to become a professor someday and engage in research within her chosen field.

Kartika's journey not only epitomises academic achievement but also showcases resilience in acclimating to new surroundings, underscoring the holistic education nurtured at St. George's.
