A place where global citizens thrive.

“Education is not just about what happens in the classroom. It's about preparing children to be well-rounded individuals. And at St.George's, we've found the perfect partner in that journey."

For Kristen, an American who has called Germany and the United Kingdom home for over two decades, choosing St.George's for her son, Colton, was not just a decision about schooling. It was a choice to inspire him with a global perspective and provide a place of challenge and inspiration.

Kristen's journey to Germany began with a Fulbright scholarship, where she soon met her German husband-to-be during her first weeks in the country. Together, they started their own consultancy business, and formed an international family, enriched by diverse cultures and experiences.

Colton, now a ten-year-old with a thirst for knowledge, has been a part of the St.George's community since he was two years old. Raised in a bilingual environment, he embodies the spirit of an inquisitive and committed learner.

"Our decision to choose an international school like St.George's was driven by our desire to challenge Colton's curiosity and provide him with a solid educational foundation. We see him as a citizen of the world, and St.George's offers the perfect platform for him to explore and grow."

Kristen knew that she’d found the right place for her family from the beginning. “I remember at the trial day, the teacher said that he would be reading books in no time. And he was.” The Herde’s were looking for a place where Colton’s potential could be extended. “A mind is a terrible thing to waste,” enthuses Kristen.

From personalised attention to a diverse array of extracurricular activities, St.George’s offers a holistic approach to education. There are various opportunities for children to explore their interests and be of service to their community. Students can belong to the school council, stand to be a house captain, or get involved in sport, music, or various clubs. Every child can find their place.

The right balance between innovative and digital approaches, blended with a respect for tradition and values is also important.

"What sets St.George's apart is the emphasis on respect – respect for one another, for different cultures, and for individual strengths. Colton has always felt valued and inspired to be his best self."

The vibrant parent community has been another source of strength for Kristen and her family. "St. George's is a very welcoming, supportive and stable community. It’s a great place to establish a network," she shares. "Some of our dearest friends are families we’ve met through the school.”

For families considering joining St. George's, Kristen offers thoughtful advice. "Visit the school if you can, immerse yourself in the atmosphere, and trust your instincts," she advises. "Ultimately, it's about finding a place where your child can thrive and become the best version of themselves."

As Kristen looks ahead to Colton's future, she does so with optimism, knowing that the foundation laid at St. George's will empower him to navigate the complexities of an interconnected world with confidence and compassion.
