School: St.George’s School Düsseldorf Rhein-Ruhr

Cultivating open minds and creating opportunities.

“We see St. George's as an investment in the education of our children. The attitude and self-confidence the school conveys and develops are as important as the academic knowledge. We believe in the values of the school and see our children living them every day.”

The Greussing family has been part of the St. George's community for more than 8 years. With two children, one in Secondary school and the other about to complete Primary school, Mrs. Greussing has a wealth of knowledge and experience, which she enjoys passing on to new parents.

"Students, parents and teachers are really close to each other. It’s like a family and I feel very comfortable being at the school.”

The Greussing’s are German-speaking and were looking for a school with an open outlook. "For us, it’s important that the children have a good level of English but also that they are comfortable among different cultures and languages.”

This flexibility and open-mindedness provide her children a lot of opportunities.

“Our kids will be ready to study in Europe or the UK if they want to. But also, they will have access to German universities. It’s all about options.”

Mrs. Greussing likes the British education system in general and appreciates the school uniform. “The uniform allows children to connect more easily with others and allows them to feel part of the community. Academics are important, but I also want them to be happy. My kids are genuinely happy to come to school every day,” she beams. The general environment of the school is another aspect that the Greussing family has come to appreciate. “The classrooms are well equipped, with small class sizes. All of the facilities, the IT infrastructure, the dining hall, and sports hall are really of a high standard.”

Mrs. Greussing emphasizes the significance of the school's values and the impact on her children's daily lives.
