The pursuit of common ideals
We live by our commitment to providing a relevant education, that is ethical, socially responsible and respects individuals and the environment. We are devoted to the everyday care of those we nurture, of our community, society and wider planet.
We firmly believe that to be truly relevant our schools must be sustainable and work actively towards building a promising future. Our purpose is to offer an education that has a positive impact not only within the school walls but in our wider communities and beyond.
Education is more than a human right; it is an irrevocable asset that promotes good citizenship and civic involvement. It empowers our young people giving them agency to shape their own lives in the way they choose. We understand our role and responsibility as a global educator and know that quality education is not only important for individual development, but for the evolution of society.
It all starts with education.
Social & environmental responsibility
Every programme and practice at our schools speaks to the very core of our values: making a difference; understanding and embracing responsible citizenship; and seeking always to influence others positively.
Our responsibilities are not only to the children in our care but to the growth of society more broadly. Our management concept puts social and environmental considerations at the forefront of our business operations and interactions with our local and global communities.

We strive to make education accessible to more than our own children. We design and fund impactful, sustainable, and scalable programmes that aim to provide quality education to young people who grow up in difficult environments, regardless of their background or circumstances. Our support programmes focus on early childhood development, access to quality primary and secondary education, technical and vocational education, and training for youth as well as a particular focus on education in emergencies and protracted crises. The welcoming of displaced children from Ukraine to all St.George´s schools is a humanitarian initiative we continue to deliver. Here, at least, we can offer a beacon of normality and routine, with added support and friendship to those who are vulnerable, and for whom life has so recently become one of suffering and hardship. We believe children should be a key consideration in our environmental, social and corporate governance considerations (ESG). Today’s children will grow up to be tomorrow’s adults – our future workforce, capital owners, investors, customers, and community stakeholders. Investing in building an equitable world for all children and young people means ensuring the future of global businesses, markets, and communities. Through Service-Learning projects we give young people a voice and the agency to create impactful change in the local community and more widely, offering valuable experience beyond the classroom. Individual volunteering, whether economic, environmental, or humanitarian, allows pupils to collaborate on meaningful projects and helps to develop empathy, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. This ethos defines who we are and what we do. |
Diversity & inclusion
Deeply rooted in the philosophy of our founder, diversity, equity, respect and inclusion are woven into the very fabric of our promise to children and employees.
As educators, we have the critical responsibility of ensuring every student feels valued, heard, and seen in the classroom. This requires more than just including diverse topics and perspectives in the lesson plan. The richness and variety of our students and staff is reflected every day in our teaching, our policies and practices. Diversity helps us to adapt and to flourish in a changing world, so we explore practical ways to embed it within both the curriculum and our learning environments to celebrate and support all backgrounds, races, ethnicity, genders, abilities, cultures, and sexual orientations. We provide enriching educational and human experiences, that allow all staff and students to feel a strong sense of belonging in the school.

Pastoral care & safeguarding
St.George’s is a place where children love to come to school. Ours is a culture of growth, of value and opportunity, where exceptional pastoral care allows young people to thrive in the safety of a healthy and nurturing environment, nourished, appreciated, and supported to be themselves.
All Secondary School pupils have a form tutor who is primarily responsible for their wellbeing in school. In the Primary School, this is the class teacher. In the Secondary School, the form tutor has time built into the day to meet with pupils to discuss their academic progress, targets, aspirations for the future, or any matters that are concerning them. The Heads of Department are also always available to pupils and parents to discuss any matters.

Pupils participate in regular assemblies which are time to share success and important messages. It is also a time to reflect on events taking place both in school and the wider world, or on issues that might be of particular importance to young people. In addition, all pupils follow a programme focussed on their personal and social development, learning about and discussing issues that are relevant to them and their growth. Our pastoral teams are ably supported by an excellent counselling team and further strengthened through the student leadership body with Prefects and Peer Mentors. |
Health & wellbeing
We are committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people in our care and our culture of trust, psychological safety, positive challenge and support creates the conditions for each individual to be at their best. We strive to create flourishing students, teachers and families through our broad range of wellbeing initiatives and strategies.
Our Wellbeing Team ensures that quality teaching of social, emotional and wellbeing skills enables all students to recognise and understand their bodies and minds and allows them to thrive. We support them with their social and emotional learning, equipping them to deal with the many challenges and triumphs that life throws their way. Through this, they make healthy lifestyle choices, and can better manage their physical and mental health as they journey through life.
St.George‘s is committed to providing excellent care and support for employee wellbeing. Staff feel respected and valued and mental and physical wellbeing are promoted and supported within every school. We are proud of our dedicated Wellbeing Teams and the student leaders who support the school's initiatives for physical and mental wellness.
Ethics & compliance
The success of St.George‘s depends on respect for the shared rules, practices and principles that guide us day-to-day.
The St.George’s School group has always been strongly committed to exemplary integrity and ethics in the conduct of its business and in its relations with all stakeholders. Rules of conduct, principles and guidelines governing ethics and environmental and social responsibility have been defined to establish the behaviour required of the Group’s executives and employees, as well as our partners and suppliers.
